The master of piquería

Piquería, a traditional musical genre from the Caribbean, has represented cultural roots for decades across generations. In La Guajira, Alcides Manjarrez is one of the last masters of piquería. Blind since birth, he has laid the foundation for this folk tradition since childhood. Currently, aside from being a cultural icon, he promotes the revival of this tradition among new generations.
