Community mothers

The care work for early childhood in the Corregimiento of Conejo, Fonseca, La Guajira, has been carried out for nearly 35 years by 7 women led by Abelina. In the community, they are called community mothers, performing this work under precarious conditions. Despite this, they remain committed to the children, without giving up the fight for the dignification of their work.
